Jim Evans Memorial Scholarship
While COVID-19 has caused havoc during spring semester at Penn State and now the Arts Fest has been cancelled … But Tau Phi Delta’s annual golf tournament is still on!
Well, here is what we have come up with for the golf tournament, please let me know if you have any questions, problems or suggestions!!
Our goal this year is to have a minimum of 10 foursomes (40 golfers), we probably already have 3 or 4 for sure!! Anyway, here are the particulars:
Tournament – Four-person scramble (best ball)
Date – July 11, 2020 with a 9:00 am shotgun start (please try and be there a half hour early)
Location – Skytop Mountain Golf Course (350 Freestone Lane, Port Matilda, PA 16870)
Cost Per Golfer – $65: For alumni/guests $40: For actives/students
Proceeds – To Benefit Tau Phi Delta Foundation Scholarship Fund
Light meal will be provided after the round at the course, bring your own beverages, alcohol or non!!
There will be skill contests (closest to pins, longest drive), a hole-in-one contest (with a prize of a new four-wheeler), prizes for the winning team, a 50/50 drawing and a gun drawing!!
Please, (AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!) email Jim Cowan ( firstname.lastname@example.org ) with a list of names for your foursome, and send form (attached) and your check (payable to Tau Phi Delta Foundation) to: Jim Cowan, P.O. Box 238, Julian, PA 16844-0238 (Note: Golfers will also be able to pay the day of the tournament, if necessary). Also, please try put together a foursome or be a part of a foursome and not show up as a single or twosome, this will make things run a lot smoother the day of the tournament! Also, remember, everyone on your foursome does not have to be a Brother, bring a friend or relative, but let’s try and have a BIG showing of golfers!
Please forward this to anyone you know has played in the past, and anyone you think might be interested in playing!
Fraternally, Jim “JC” Cowan (Fall `76) and Gavin Collins (Fall `14)
