Wheeling Sportsman Hunt 2015

December 12, 2015

Write up by Br. Rob Lusk

On December 12 the last day of regular rifle season the above mentioned brothers joined members of Penn State SAF as well as members of the Terrace Mountain Chapter of NWTF for the annual Wheeling Sportsmen hunt at Raystown Lake. The hunt is designed for those handicapped either mentally or physically and of all ages to be able to have the same hunting opportunities as the rest of us. Run by the head forester of Raystown lake the hunters are placed in blinds with help down handicap accessible trails. Once the hunters are set the drive teams organize and begin driving deer to the waiting hunters. By the end of the day the brothers along with other drivers had pushed out 3 does and 2 bucks that were successfully harvested by the hunters with all hunters seeing deer. After the hunt a great cookout was provided by the staff at Raystown lake. Truly a privilege had by the brothers to be able to help those less fortunate.

The house hopes to make this an annual community service endeavour.

Brothers that participated Rob Lusk (alumni) Jake Glotzbach, Brett Moffit, colby Matthews, Austin Noguera, Keith Rhodes, Nate Yocum, and Gavin Collins (all active) and Little Sister Kellie Heckman.
